What are the ingredients of DermOpt?

The active ingredient of both DermOpt shampoo and DermOpt conditioning spray is Thrixsolene^®. This is a blend of mild antiseptic and various skin nourishing vitamins, combined with a clever trigger mechanism to potentiate the effect even in very dilute form. The Thrixsolene^® is very mild and completely biodegradeable.

In the case of the shampoo, the Thrixsolene^® is mixed into a shampoo base consisting of:

Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Cocoamidopropyl betaine, Lauramide DEA, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Dimethicone Copolyol, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Methylchloroisothiazolone, Magnesium Nitrate Linlaool, Citric Acid, colours (FD & C yellow and red),Limonene, Geraniol.

The amount of Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLS) is low compared to most "cosmetic" shampoos, since it can be an irritant. Since the SLS is what makes a shampoo froth, there is less lather when you use DermOpt, but it does not reduce its effectiveness.

Where can I buy DermOpt?

At present DermOpt is only available online, either on this Website, or on Ebay or on Amazon. It can also be bought over the counter at Anrich Veterinary Hospital in Wigan, , Pemberton, Hindley and Huddersfield.  In the future we may be allowing other selected Pet Shops and Vetinerary Practices to stock it.  Please check back here for news.

Does it work?

All we can do is point to all people who have tried it, many after years of visiting Vets with no success!  A selection of their comments can be found in the testimonials section.

We also had a vet carry out a double blind trial, comparing DermOpt shampoo to a placebo and to Malaseb. He found that it was effective in all 12 cases that he tried.

Recently we carried out a survy of existing customers and the result was that 80% of people who had tried the shampoo found that it improved their pet's skin condition, and 95% of people who tried the spray found this. Many of the others found that it improved the quality of the fur, even if the skin condition was unchanged.
